It is often denoted by the acronym MEK, it is an extremely powerful solvent in dirt removal capacity and for remove spurt of paint, adhesives, inks, etc. Its speed evaporation is medium- fast and it is widely used in paint thinner, especially nitrocelulose, alkyd short-oil, acrylic and polyurethane, as lower of the viscosity but saving the characteristics of the film.
